This is my 16th post into this forum.
Good news -
1. Babchi irritation has completely subsided down.
2. My 1 spot on the neck is 100% repigmented. My other spots on neck - Showing good progress towards repigmentation.
3. Spots on the chest - small freckles of brown spots are starting to emerge.
4. New spot emerged on my back and stomach - checked with doctor - the pulse therapy medicine he is giving me should stop emergence of new spots within 1 month's time.
5. Hands - The color of the spots is definitely not white. It is pinkish & brownish. Doctor's frank opinion - Repigmentation on hands will NEVER BE 100%. I will be very lucky to achieve partial pigmentation. But that is ok.
6. Doctor's approach - make the vitiligo static - no new spots and older spots not spreading. Then Phase II - Achieve repigmentation as much as possible - this will take 2-3 years. Phase III - Leftovers - Skin graft.
7. Folks - best news is - YOU CAN EAT ANYTHING. IT IS ALL BULL AND CROCK ANY DOCTOR TELLING YOU TO AVOID FOODS. Live life normally.
I feel Vitiligo has a cure and I do hope we all who have been through this get cured. Feel free to write to me at pete_puneet@yahoo.com.
By the way I aint propagating any doctor or website because frankly I am dont believe on all the nonsense I have read on google or what so many websites happen to claim - best to go to an expert who knows the disorder, the associated illnesses and knows how to handle the medications and how to administer them.
For all those who are using Babchi - please use that very very carefully. Babchi is the most potent of the medicines - but we dont know the source of Babchi, the soil content, the amount of pesticides used to grow Babchi and the concentration of Babchi in the oil, is it 10g for every 100 ml or 3g for every 100ml. So I would strongly recommend use Babchi under an expert's supervision. It can be very counterproductive if not used properly - sun burns, blisters, erythema, photo toxicity, hyperpigmentation (in skin around the vitiligo spots) - these all will increase the incidence of Vitiligo spots rather than curing it.
My view of using Babchi is very simple.
1. Small drops on spots and rub them gently in them after washing the spots with warm water.
2. Expose only to early morning or late evening sunlight and NEVER beyond 30 minutes. Start with 5 minutes, gradually increase to 10 minutes, then 15 ... 30.
Anycase, I am not sure what your doctor is recommending - Sunlight exposure is a must to cure Vitiligo. However, ask your doctor how to expose yourself to sunlight.
Happy curing
Cheers.

Re: Current progress - 01.10.10 - Vitiligo treatment
The itching has subsided. I use Babchi oil plus Neem oil once a day now. This is my 36th day of Babchi use and thankfully the hell I went through initially (itching) has subsided. The skin (around the spots) also has regained its original color. I expose myself to sun light regularly (30-45 minutes daily - 15 minutes with Babchi) as per my doctor's advise.
Small brown freckles are begining to show on some spots - especially on the chest.
No new spots have come up (too early to say if the spread has become static).
100% of the vitiligo spots are pink and my friends say that there is a visible improvement in the spots i.e. pink color. It is just a color change with very few instances of the brown freckles (only on chest).
What is for sure is - I feel better about myself - so what if I have Vitiligo - I am enjoying life even more than I did when I did not have this disorder - So fundamentally - have a blast and live a life.
Will keep you folks posted.

Re: Current progress - 01.10.15 - Vitiligo treatment
Two brown freckles on finger tips... Very small but clearly visible...
1 thing about my attitude - i dont care anymore about the disorder... Last week i was with friends and what a wonderful moment I had with them - back to old days -no body even bothered to ask - we had great fun.
Also, have been exposing myself to sun light (quite a lot) - no side effects..

From what I read all your topics, you talk about BABCHI OIL all time. Is that what you been using only .. or any onther medicals/vits ?!
and how long fore!?
I live in UK and there is no point to go to DOC over here cos they are useless, I been told I cant do nothing about it (when i went to see them 1st time) and I lost all hope... maybe if I tried some of the stuff right in the begingin maybe would have been better... been 4/5 years now :*(

Re: Current progress - 01.10.15 - Vitiligo treatment
I am using a mix of treatments but under supervision of experts.
I would recommend you connect with a Dr J S Pasricha (he does consult in UK). Search for him on google and you will get his contact details.
Any medication has to be under an expert supervision including Babchi oil.
But I can tell you what I am doing:
1. Babchi plus neem oil plus sunlight (only 15 mins a day) - been doing it now for close to 45 days.
2. Medicines as prescribed by Dr Pasricha - they have to be administered under an expert supervision - I do recommend you consult a right expert on this. A Babchi only approach is not sufficient.
3. Yoga for detox
4. Homeopathic (I have not discontinued this and dont intend to) - though all homeopathics and ayurvedics are of no use in Vitiligo
5. Biggest - try to destress urself...
6. Sunlight - I do give myself a good amount of sunlight exposure.
Look i understand what it is causing you - i have been through hell. But I can assure you few things:
1. Live your life as normally as you can - trust me nobody cares or bothers if you have this disorder.
2. Have a long term view of the cure - and once you begin it - dont stop till your doctor tells you - this is a mistake I did because of which it got aggravated after getting cured once.
3. If you dont find a good doctor in UK lemme know, I would recommend call up Dr Pasricha in India. Speak to him - probably he can guide you. I cannot recommend you the medicines as I dont know their reactions and your medical history.

Re: Current progress - 01.10.15 - Vitiligo treatment
Surgery? for what? that is a scam - dont even think about it unless you are 200% sure you have a "STATIC" vitiligo for a period of over 12 months and have tried all other possible means.
I understand your reasons to lose trust. Cant blame you given there are 99% cheats claiming miracle cures on internet. I actually did more damage to myself researching on google than any good.
Dr Pasricha has no reason to claim glory for three reasons:
1. He is over 70, a PhD in field of dermatology with proven research on drugs used for vitiligo (I have given a link to a book he published) - the cost of that book $1 - that gave me tremendous respect on his background.
2. He was Head of department of AIIMS and a Professor in Dermatology - Any Indian will tell you that they will rather blindly believe a HOD of AIIMS in India given its reputation as India's #1 medical institution than go to various unproven quacks sitting there claiming miracle cures for Vitiligo.
3. You need a guy who knows how to administer the drugs - many doctors fret at the thought of administering the drugs given their side effects.
I have been told - results or no results - just take the course that is being recommended for a minimum period of 3 years - and I aint a medical expert - So i rather trust a guy who knows his subject and carries a strong reputation.
Surgery is a last phase treatment. So you better be very clear what you are getting into. As of now my treatment course is not curing the disorder but stopping the spread. Just with that itself I have seen few spots repigment.
By the way - all theories of this disorder being treated are a bloody farce. There are many cases who find repigmentation on its own without medication.
Basically my life today:
1. I eat what i wish to (given I have to watch for other health conditions like cholesterol and thyroid)
2. I give myself decent sunlight in a day - I play cricket, football, swim..
3. I play with my family...
4. My friends love me and people i work with love me... so i am same as i used to be pre-disorder
Buddy.... live ur life.. enjoy the beautiful moments in ur life.. thank lord this came in our lives... atleast we can cure this over time.... and thank lord we dont have those internal problems like diabetes etc...
hope this helps.. and do write to Dr Pasricha..

Re: Current progress - 01.10.25 - Vitiligo treatment
Have heard about Dr Kabra. He is a homeopath. I am not so sure if on a "Progressive Vitiligo" - homeopathy is of any use. You can try but might get disappointed.
I am happy with my progress.
I saw your pictures. I think you can easily be repigmented given your spots are in places that can easily be repigmented.
But I would urge you to discuss this with Dr Pasricha and not Dr Kabra - Vitiligo cure is a long term investment from your side - 3-4 years at a minimum - if you have analyzed the responses of over 99% of the people on forums - they leave the course midway and then change tracks - not advised.
I suggest - pick 1 doctor (a specialist dermatologist) and work with him/ her over a longer period of time. Dont change the course midway.
Step 1- If it is progressive - medications can stop spread. During that time repigmentation will happen in some cases.
Step 2 - depending on progress your doctor may change the medication (alter the dosage) - this will continue for a period of MINIMUM 3 years - dont stop till your doctor tells you to do so.
Step 3 - Whatever is left - if it is static for a period of 3-4 years - consult the doctor and go for a skin graft.
I have experienced homeopathy - my hypothesis is it works in "static vitiligo" and not in "fast spreading progressive vitiligo". This is where frustration with homeopathy medicines begins - they are slow and seeing new spots come - they will cause a lot of discomfort.
Regards my progress -
1. Neck - had 4 spots (3 very small and 1 large in middle) - 3 small ones are gone and not visible any longer - 1 large one in middle is slow but showing progress - I guess these circular small spots merge from the edges and not from middle.
2. Eyes - I look funny coz they are pinkish in color - but definitely not white - off late have started seeing some amount of dark brown spots closer to the nose.
3. Nose - spots are pink... slow progress - no freckles seen - only the spots are pink
4. Chest - 5 circular spots in the center of chest - the larger one is showing small freckles - rest all are pink in color - on the edges of these spots I am seeing brown color emerge and spread inwards.. very slow progress but happy. But from a distance they seem as wounds and not white spots.
5. Arm pits - All are pink - smaller ones are showing progress
6. Navel - showing pinkish color
7. Finger tips - I can see for the first time a small brown freckle in one of the finger tips - trust me this will in my view the toughest of the areas to be cured - but the mere presence of a small brown freckle is heartening.
8. Thumbs - can see 2 small freckles on both the thumbs - very very small but a very positive sign because pink turns to brown freckles which grow to merge.
9. Palms - they look very funny right now.. pink - brown...
10. Webbings on fingers - progressing
All my spots are pink.. none of them are white.. and I feel things r progressive..
Cheers

Re: Current progress - 01.10.25 - Vitiligo treatment
My Vitilgo was diagnozed in March 2009. The first signs.
I started his treatment on January 1, 2010.
The first sitting with him was only GBP 10. The medicines I have cost barely 10 pence a day.
My next sitting with him - February 15th around abouts.
Doctor sees me every 45-60 days.
Using Babchi for 2 months - not 3 years.

Re: Current progress - 01.10.28 - Vitiligo treatment
I am based out of India mate. The price I quoted to you in GBP was to explain you cost differentials. I suggest you pick up the phone and call his office (alternatively go to a specialist dermatologist in UK and ask about administering the Vitiligo drugs in a pulse therapy mode - probably they can structure your drug dosage in a manner that the side effects are minimized).
I will not be posting to this forum for 15 days now. Last 28 days since I started the medications have shown positive results. I hope to continue the positive momentum. It is too early to speculate but yes I do see repigmentation in multiple areas now - e.g. on the chest I can see small dark brown freckles emerge on the roots of the hair, a larger spot on neck is getting smaller day by day, the small spots on fingers are disappearing (I have my appointment with doctor on Feb 5th - Only then will I know what is the real progress).
One thing I know is that this is a very deceptive disorder - the moment you think you start getting cured - the real bigger spots emerge - so i want to hold on to the excitement for next 15-20 days and hope the trend is positive.
Keep fingers crossed - i want to pass good news to the folks who access this forum - but I myself want to be sure that this is not a temporary relief but a permanent momentum.
Lastly - Babchi oil + Neem oil + sun light is effective - I have received emails from many folks who access this forum - they all say that after using the oil they have suffered sun burns or boils - well here is what I suggest you folks do:
Use Babchi very moderately from day 1. Go slow - Babchi is an ancient cure and a 100% effective and highly potent cure.
1st month - wash the spots with warm water, apply small drops and slowly rub them in the spots, apply neem oil and slowly rub them in spots and begin with ONLY 5 minutes of sunlight (12 noon to 2 pm) - After 30 minutes of usage wash the spots clean. If the itching happens - no problem however if the boils come - discontinue.
2nd month - increase the sunlight from 5 to 10 minutes.
3rd month - increase the sunlight to 15 minutes
so on.. and never increase sun light beyond 30 minutes.
I have been exposing myself to sunlight (even without Babchi) - I have so far had no side effects - sun burns etc. I think it is coz of being dark skinned and an Indian I have a natural immunity to the sunlight.
Folks - wish you all the best... will be back in 15-20 days with hopefully positive results. In meanwhile feel free to write to me at puneetbhatia2009@gmail.com.
Cheers
