Tiffany, Have you heard of any other people that have had success with pigmentum.  You are the only one that has replied here out of many that have viewed this post, even on vitiligosupport.org there is no one that says that they have tried it with success.  The only thing that I find is that it is a scam.

Re: Pigmentum - Has anyone had sucess with this?

Hi Anne,  I cant get it testd as teh labs I contactd nmeed to knwo hat they are testing it for.  I.E what ingredients they are looking for.  If we have no idea whats in it, whoch makes it an openended test.  I thought a tablet could give it to a lab and analysis performed for its constituent parts but as it could consist of any number of things its a massive task.  I have a feelings its primarily Psoralea Seed powder with other stuff.  They suggsted I ask my Dr but the local surgey does not have this capability.  So no luck there.  Did report it to the MHRA UK (Medical and Healthcare Regulatory Authority), for whatever its worth.

Re: Pigmentum - Has anyone had sucess with this?

hi everyone, my name is Annie. from hong kong. i recently, about a week ago, purchased pigmentum online... so excited and been waiting for the pills to arrive. was so desperate so didnt take time to look up reviews or articles about it. it's not expensive, well.. for the hope and possible good result, it's not expensive to me. so i went head and bought it. even thought they are very kind to offer free shipping.. then today, i started looking up info/new info about treatments for vitiligo. i do it nearly everyweek to see if there's new technology for it and today, i found this forum. Now i'm crying here after knowing that pigmentum is just a scam. sigh...

i'm actually a professional make up artist so its easy for me to do all the covering up but its tiring... very tiring to do it everyday. i panic big time too, when i get surprise visit in the morning. i use dy-o-derm sometimes though, if i have an important event the next day. well, just to make the covering up a little easier and better, since dy-o-derm makes the contrast of the 2 skin colors smaller. but i no longer follow their instruction after a few experiments, i do it my way, haha.. well, its helpful anyway.

so, just wondering. do u know the cause of ur vitiligo? mine is thyroid i think. i went to see a dermatologist and after showing my skin problem (it wasnt easy to show real skin to people! haha), he asked me to get a blood test. ok, something is slightly wrong with my auto-immune system that it's killing some of my pigment instead of killing the bad stuff. oh no, think i'm talking too much here...

ok, just to tell u that i'm gonna start taking chinese herbal thyroid pills, real stuff, not a scam. see if it helps! will bookmark this forum and visit everyday from now on. nice to meet u all!!

Re: Pigmentum - Has anyone had sucess with this?

    Hi Ann

I have recently bought this online and I have not received it as of yet!!!  I am heart broken now that I have found this Forum!!  I finally thought that I had found something that may work!!

I have emailed them and I just get the same email - if you havent received it within 3 working days bla bla bla- time after time!!

Nice, they have taken my £75 though!!  Think there is anyway of getting that back??

So I guess that No1 has had any success with this at all then?

I feel so silly now - I really thought I found something good - my mum and sister are both in the medical world and both advised me against this, claiming it would be a scam and it wouldnt work!!!  I cant believe there is such sick people out there who want to fleece us for our money when all we are trying to do it find a cure for a condition we have!!

I have a trip with St Lucia in a month or so for a wedding - i really hoped that this may have been the answer to my paranoia!!

Grrrrrrr!!!  I am now utterly devistated!!

i'm just as mad as u r. wish there's a way to anounce to the whole world so that no one falls for it again!! how severe is ur vitiligo? i have fair skin so it's not as bad as some of the photos i've seen.

but suzie, cheer up. my boyfriend thinks it's good, that i havent received the pills. if we did, we wouldn't have come to this forum then and we would have started taking the shxx which might be harmful to us.

    p.s. pigmentum, go to hell.

Re: Pigmentum - Has anyone had sucess with this?

    Hi All

This is a large reply so apologiesJ.  Hope it helps.

Try not to become angry as it will cause stress and make your Vitiligo worse. Many people, including me, have bought Pigmentum in hope.  I only found one blog that claimed it worked.  You should receive them as it takes about 3/4 weeks but it will come from Pakistan.  I did get mine in the end but had to also put CCNOW on my complaint email as well as to support@pigmentum-inc.com

I took them for a month but have now stopped taking then for only one reason, I DONT KNOW WHATS IN THEM!  You can take them in blind faith, there is nothing wrong in that, but that’s a personal choice.

I am lucky as I have segmented with patches on my head and behind my ear.  The positive is that is doesn’t spread far but the challenge being it seldom responds to treatments and takes far longer.

Please don’t expect any treatment to be effective in a month it simply is impossible.  Vitiligo evolves over months or years depending on the underlying problem.  Thinking it will go away in a month is false hope.  My experience so far has given me the belief that Vitiligo can be treated with the right mental approach.

Please take a look at this link I found. It helps you understand the approach I have taken.  http://vitiligo.50webs.com/#chapter1  It’s crucial to understand underlying trigger or “catalyst” which caused the Vitiligo reaction.  I can only tell you what I did and hope it helps.

    1.      Vitiligo is caused because of an imbalance in the body somewhere. (Thyroid, long-term chronic stress, neural aggravation, organ dysfunction, toxin build-up, etc).  I asked the Dr for a “Full Liver Function Test (LFT), a Gamma GT test and a Cholesterol test.  The results were alarming as my liver functions (Gamma GT and ALT) were 4 times the highest value allowed and my cholesterol was unduly high due to my Triglyceride count.  The Liver removes these.  This proved on thing, my liver function was normal and was not removing toxins/free radicals therefore building up on the blood and affecting my triglycerides levels.  This cased a backlog so the body tries to also remove excess toxicity through the skin.  This and stress in my life led to Neural aggravation.

    2.      I then took Ayurvedic herbal treatment from a recommended Dr in India for 3 months, after which I had a retest, which showed all my levels were normal.  My cholesterol also reduced but is slightly high due to hereditary factors. Guess what the Vitiligo stopped and started to disappear with managed Sun exposure and psoralen use.   I am having them checked again tomorrow, Friday.  I try to do this every 6 months to ensure all is OK.

    3.      I don’t use psoralens anymore as I have become highly sensitive now and developed an allergic reaction.  So just go out into the sun to get some exposure.  Please use products that increase photosensitivity with correctly or even ask the hospital for NUVB or PUVA.  Skin should never go beyond slightly pink.

    4.      I also removed diary and meat completely on advice from the Ayurvedic Dr.  So called experts say food does not affect Vitiligo but as no one knows why triggers cause Vitiligo then I take all advice and assess it after understanding myself.  All I can say it has been proven to be another factor for me.  Last month I had a food in-tolerance check done.  Dairy, Gluten all came up as RED.  This means when I eat them my body treats them as invaders and creates antibodies to fight the foods.  This adds to extra toxins and work for my liver to remove.

    5.      I have for last 3months had nUVB at the hospital (Guys & St Thomas, London) but for me it makes my skin Vitiligo paler and has de-pigmented original pigment within my patches.  I have stopped this now.

All I can say is find out what your trigger “catalyst” was and treat that first and then start treating your Vitiligo for recovery.  Annie you have done that with it being your Thyroid.

I use the following rules now to assess if I am going to try something

    1.      Make sure the office of the product is real and that the product actually comes from the stated office or at least you can trace that the office actually exists.  Many companies use pseudo offices to help sell their products, which is legal and not always a scam.

    2.      You can ring or get in touch with the Vendor at all times

    3.      You know what is in the product, as some herbal medicines if taken in high doses can do more harm then good.

Most treatments use the same principle and all have a chance to work for someone but not all.  You need to give all treatments a chance to work at least 3 months.  It takes a long time for Vitiligo to appear so to think it will disappear in a fraction of the time is incorrect.  The treatments out there help you recover and regain pigment.  Some will help treat the catalyst, which I feel is essential or it will simply come back.

Please take a look at the international vitiligo forum as well.  http://www.vitiligosupport.org/

Watch the negativity.  Just because something hasn’t worked for many doesn’t mean it won’t work for you.  It all depends on what your “TRIGGER” was.  That the key.  Find something that has enough of a positive feedback and feels right.  Try and remain positive.

It’s still a challenge for me sometimes, but 18months ago when my Vitiligo first came up I was totally distraught causing my stress levels to rise which only sped up my Vitiligo.  Once I understood my underlying issues and what caused them in my life I made the changes and have recovered 30% since.  Just the 2 patches mainly left now.

I could carry on but I won’t J .  It’s been a journey but not reached my destination yet LOL!

Re: Pigmentum - Has anyone had sucess with this?

Raj,  That was a great response and very incouraging.  I'm taking my daughter to an Endocrinologist March the 7th and I'm hoping to get several blood test run like you did.  I want to know what else is going on inside her body.  In the past, I have only taken her to a dermatologist and none of them have done any blood test.  After that I am thinking of doing the Merryclinic.com  some people have had success and I dont believe its a scam.  It may not work for some but it seems to work for more people than not.

Where do you get the Psoralia?  Does it come in a cream instead of seeds?

Did you go to the vitiligocover.com website?  Where this girl that had vit and was taking b12 shots for something else and her color came back.  There is a picture of her showing it.  Very interesting.  Also They talk about there are two different kinds of b12 and most say take the one that starts with a M not the one that starts with a C.  Sorry I dont know the names.  When you go to www.vitiligocover.com click on the right where it says Vitiligo success stories.

Babybox and Suzie, dont give up, I almost did and now 13 years later my daughter is having some success with the xtrac laser which is painless.  Its slow for her but working. Some people it works very fast.  I will never give up.  I also trust in God.  When he died on the cross he saved us and healed us, he did all he is going to do, now its up to us to believe and trust in him and speak his word on whatever situation we are in so Im believing for my daughters healing and I believe that his word is true.  God is only moved by our faith not doubt.  If we doubt, what ever you are praying for will not come to past, you have got to believe in his word and only speak his word so I know that by Jesus strips she is healed!!!  God has his own timing and one day she will have an awesome testimony.

I look forward to hearing all of your successes.

Re: Pigmentum - Has anyone had sucess with this?

    Hi Anne,

I cant find the article about the B12, can you reply with exact link of the page.  Thanks

Psoralea Corylifolia seed oil does the same as most of the other topical treatments.  They simply increase your skins photsensitivity to sunlight, to help encourage new pigment to form.   One which the international forum promotes in www.dermabest.com and their NOVITIL product, this does not contain psoralea oil, so can reduce side affects to psoralea use longterm.  It uses other ingredients to increase tanning power alongside other stuff.  I got a bottle of Bakuchi seed oil (Ayurvedic name for Psoralea C) from www.costlessvitamins.com a US based company.

All require regular sunlight exposure to work.  Celery, parsnips, carrots and limes--contain psoralens, I juice them now.

I got them from a chinese herbalist, as its part of normal chinese medicine.  I was told by the practitioner to soak them in 250ml of surgical spirit for a week,  I shook the bottle every day to ensure it didnt just settle.  Then strain the seeds away and apply to the skin and expose to sunlight.  It worked well.  But longterm use made me hypersensitive to it and sunlight and also surgical spitrit can cause and did in my case, dry skin/eczema as i used it for about 2 months daily.

However; if you are trying www.merryclinic.com her Vitilax oil also contains psoralea oil and bergmanot.  You can use that with managed sun exposure. Just make sure you don't burn the skin. It easily done as you don't see the results until the next day.

Its key to address the internal issues, if they still exist.  It may still do if the Vitiligo is still spreading.  The topical solutions work better when the bodies internal problems are sorted.  You can use it at the sametime but don't be suprised if new spots come up if the internal issues are still there.  I think from what you have written its not spreading anymore.

Re: Pigmentum - Has anyone had sucess with this?

thank you so much Ann and Raj!!!!!!! i'm touched by all the useful info and encouragement. was still crying this morning when i was telling my friend about my disappointment via email. yeah, u r right, stress and depression really dun help at all. i should keep my chin up and look forward to getting better. thanks to u all, i purchased vitilax and the oil last night. will keep people updated about my progress.

i actually wanna try using laser but my vitiligo is around my eyes, small white patches on both eye lids and under right eye. another problem is that i'm freckle prone at the same time so getting sun exposure is indeed a challenge. i might apply sunscreen all over then use cotton buds and cleansing liquid to wipe the white patches. next to the white patches, i have darker patches too. feels like the loss of pigment had simply shifted to over-pigment the surrounding skin. and under my right eye, yea, part of the dark circle is cured LOL. i think i look like a dalmation btw.

ok, time to put myself together and start my wonderful day!

    lots of love,
    Annie

Re: Pigmentum - Has anyone had sucess with this?

Hey babybox,  You can use the xtrac laser around yours eyes.  Look at the website www.vitiligocover.com and click on the right vitiligo success stories and the one that pops up first is a girl that has it all over her face, she did the xtrac laser and it worked, they have pictures showing that.  I have also seen this at my dermatologist office about this same girl.  It is a documented case using xtrac laser.  You can also do  search on xtrac laser for vitiligo and I found it there as well.

Raj,  I dont know how to link you for that page, I'm not good at computer stuff but after you click on vitiligo success stories the girl that I was just talking about comes up first then under that there is a post saying Vitiligo cures from around the world dated august 8th 2007, there you will see pictures of the girl that did the b12 shots showing what it did for her.  Just under that you will see 47 comments and under that you will see a post saying My body reacted to b12 shots as quick as lightning, that was posted July 21 2007 also you will see comments.  You can also click on archives then click on the different dates that come up and you will find other info.  Im going to order the vitiligo cover to see how well it covers up the vit areas also someone told me about safetan.com, its another sunless tanning lotion and it has no smell and its all natural.  I havent looked it up yet so hopefully I have the name right.  Thanks Raj for the info.

Re: Pigmentum - Has anyone had sucess with this?

thanks Ann. this is indeed a good news. isn't it nice to know that there are actually many ways that might cure my vitiligo. i've decided to spend half a year on plan A:

    Plan A:
    take vitilax capsules
    use vitilax oil
take chinese herbal thyroid capsules (the treatment lasts for 6 mths too)
    daily sunlight exposure
celery+apple+ginger or carrot+apple+ginger juice daily (ginger is my religion lol)
eat as little red meat as possible
    use my stresseraser (http://hk.youtube.com/watch?v=43oJXDrGFZk&feature=related)
chikung (ok, this is a chinese thing lol http://www.chikung.com/taimag1.html)

Plan B will be Xtrac laser, if A doesnt work. hopefully there's a good clinic in hong kong for that. thanks again  (^~^)/

Re: Pigmentum - Has anyone had sucess with this?

Actually babybox I believe you can do both at the same time.  All the laser does is give you a higher concentration of light.  Some times they will have you use a cream along with it to make it even more sensitive to light. You need sunlight anyway to make the oil work, this just gives you more of it.  So you might want try both if you can find a doctor that has the xtrac.  But like Raj says you need to find out whats going on inside your body to combat it both ways.  Thats what I'm doing.  My daughter is going to an endocrine doctor as well as dermatologist.  I tell you what happens on Friday.  I just hope its a doctor that wants to help.  Happy coloring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Pigmentum - Has anyone had sucess with this?

    Hi Babybox,

Thats great news as I am also thinking of doing your Plan A, Well Vitliax and Vitamins.  As you are treating your thyroid with herbal remedies you shoulkd see godo results.  It did take my Liver issues to normalise after 3months on herbal treatment.

I did read yesterday of a report on people who took to much PABA and caused their liver to be affected and subsequently got Vitiligo.  This provides me with more proof that its due to an internal imbalance or stress.  I have also looked at the Xtract Laser.  There is only one place in London that does it and I am thinking of going to see them.  Will talk about it with my consultant furst.

You can do both together, but I would suggest, wait for at least 3 months on your herbal thyroid remedies to take affect.  Let the inside heal and then try the laser.  It makes sense to me as nothing will work until you have internal balance.

I stopped nUVB at the hospital as I don't take to it.  It made my patches whiter and I also started losing more pigment.  Hence why I am cautious about Xtrac, however; as it uses only a single band 308mn of UVB and only focuses on the Vitiligo areas, it may be better for me.  I have read good reports about it.

I read yeterday a report on a trial done in NY.  Sorry dont have the link but in summary it concluded it was a good method to repigment but did also state that if after doing it 2 times a week for 2 months you don't see any results it probably won't work for that person.  I may try it and use that as an indicator to see if it will work for me.

PS.  My best friend has been in HK for 2 years at Goldmans.  He moves in between TKY and NY but based in HK.  He's always telling me to come over.  May do later this year.

Re: Pigmentum - Has anyone had sucess with this?

    hi Ann (^ ^)/"

I thought about it too, doing both at the same time. but i wanna know if the herbal remedy alone works. if it does, i can recommend Plan A to other "vitiligolian". Xtrac might be fairly expensive to some people so i wanna see if there's a cheaper hope. I have found ONE place only that has Xtrac. "new tech" in their hospital, says on their website, haha.. and it is the most expensive hospital in hk. uh oh, haha.. i even called another small laser clinic, asked if they have Xtrac, no they dun. then i said, "please tell the doctor about this new tech as he will make lotsa money out of it" LOL

i found out about my thyroid problem last year. wasn't a good experience as the dermatologist scared the S out of me. he had a look at my face and he looked very worried. then he wanted me to get a blood test asap. he kept on telling me i have a disease, or something is very wrong. then when he saw my test result, he was more convinced and told me that my thyroid is not killing the right thing. i started crying when he asked if he can talk to my family. i didnt fully understand the problem with my thyroid but he made me sound like i was dying or something LOL. now i can laugh about it. oh i asked if it can be cured, he said, "makeup doesn't help?" @#$% LOL  anyway, i started getting UVB in his clinic. wasn't painful. was alittle red for a little while like a sunburn. then the second time, the technician asked me how long the redness lasted. not long at all, i said. she then increased the UVB level. ok, that time she really burnt my skin...it was red for few mths! and that was the last time i went there... ok, haha.. that's my story, haha..

yeah, let us know on Friday. (^~^)
