    Re: I HATE HAVING VITILIGO

    Hi Everyone,

I don't have vitiligo but my eleven year old son has it. ( at least that is what our family doctor says). He has an appointment on the 13th of August to see a dermatologist. It seems like one day he was fine and then the next wham...he had it all over his face, neck and scalp and that was the at the end of June. I went to a 5 day conference and the boy had one tiny white spot on his cheek and two weeks later it just spread like wildfire. He is also losing his hair in small patches on his head. School starts in about 2 1/2 weeks where we live and now he doesn't want to go. He will be in the sixth grade. I have went to a lot of web sites to see what they say about vitilego, but it doesn't seem there is a lot of different things and they sure don't tell you what to do about it while at home waiting to see the dermatologist. I have just been making sure that my son puts on sun screen every morning after his shower and have been making him wear a hat when he goes outside. We live in the Mojave desert of southern California, so the sun is really strong here. I am really glad to have found this forum and to meet all of you. If you have any advice on how I can help my young son deal with this, please let me know.

    Thank You All!

    A Very Worried Mom

    Re: I HATE HAVING VITILIGO

Hello my name is Pat and im not such a big fan of the ol' vitiligo myself. Ive only had it about 3 years now and have tryed many treatments without any success. Im 27 and its now across most the left side of my face, not really to good looking. My friends are nice about it and so is my fam. but meeting new people is dif. and im very sick of strangers asking whats wrong with my face. I try to enjoy myself and dont let it really bother me much but last week my derm. dismissed me as his pacient cause lack of results within the past year of treatments every other day. Talk about depressing. Well i hope all is good with you, keep on smiling.

    Re: I HATE HAVING VITILIGO

I've only had the condition for a few months now and it is depressing I have to admit.  But truly and honestly what are you going to do?  I am trying some all natural treatments and see what becomes of those but other than that there really is nothing.  Women are lucky that they can use makeup to help the situation but for men I realize it must be difficult.  I just always try to keep thinking that my family and friends love me and care for me so a few white patches won't get me down!  Keep your heads up everyone!

    Re: I HATE HAVING VITILIGO

    I'm a vitiligo victim too.

I sense so much anger, hatred, frustration, confusion ... fear here. I was once like that too, but I've learned to find peace with my self ... within. First thing first, if we vitiligo patients DO NOT ALLOW (by that I mean in our own mind, heart and soul) others to demean us, NO ONE can. Our worth as a human being is more than just skin deep. Our family and friends love us, and most of the time, it's WE ourselves who are wallowing in pity-party about our vitiligo conditions.

Have you ever wonder why some vitiligo patients had 100% repigmentation ... some had 95% ... some had 75% etc. Is it really true that vitiligo has NO CURE?

I came across this interesting article entitled Vitiligo: Can or Cannot Be Cured? by an ex-vitiligo patient who had 100% repigmentation. It's indeed thought provoking. There are a lot of truth in what have been said there.

    Re: I HATE HAVING VITILIGO

When I was first diagnosed with Vitiligo I got talking to someone (nice and tanned) who said she had suffered with it but all her pigmentation had come back.  Since mine hasn't disappeared I have come to the conclusion that for the lucky few it does go away but I don't think I fall in that catagory, altho it is better than it was.

    www.gerovitalshop.eu

I had vitiligo for years and years until i found Gerovital tablets and i got better in just one year . The Gerovital has numerous side effects when ABUSING and can not be taken along with sulphamides, also the breaks must be religiously kept regular . The side effects are numerous when using FAKE Gerovital from all kinds of places and with fantasy names as ''gold Kh3'' or similar. The Romanian site of the Romanian manufacturer is www.GerovitalProducts.ro  and you can see there how it looks the genuine boxes produced by their factory. I am using Gerovital products since 1997 and i never experienced any side effects but i am only using the romanian genuine Gerovital made by the original romanian manufacturer. The best place to buy that i found in this ten years is www.GerovitalShop.eu , here you get FREE shipping for the 12 month cure and live support for any question you might have. I must say that their only flaw is that they DO NOT SHIP to U.S.A. From my personal experience well as my friends' experiences i can tell few other sites selling ONLY genuine Gerovital products : www.GeroVitality.com  and www.GerovitalProducts.com . Best wishes for health

    Re: I HATE HAVING VITILIGO

Hey all. i have to say i hate having it as well. Well i guess i can't say that i have it for sure but i'm 99.999% positive it is:(  Have had white spots on my eye lids since birth but it didn't start speading until about 7 years ago and in the last 2 years it has spread like crazy. Since the about 85% of my face is affected along with patches on my back and wrists. So i'm pretty sure it is Vitiligo. I guess i'm just a little freaked out to actually see a dermatologist about it even though i should.

I'm usually not the kind of person that worries about what anyone else thinks about me but it's getting harder and harder to not be emotionally affected by it. I guess the hard part for me is the insecurities that come along with. My wife to me is a very beautiful woman. She has never lead me to believe in any shape or form that she thinks of me any different but i can't help that she does because i'm so insecure about it.

I'am also very worried because my 9yr old son has a small white spot on his cheak. I just hope that it's not Vitiligo. If it is i hope it doesn't spread across his face like it did mine. I don't want him to go through the same problems as i have.
