Pigmentum - Has anyone had sucess with this?

The company http://www.pigmentum-inc.com/ claims to use unaini medicine to help sufferers sure from vitiligo.  Unani does have good results according to blogs but has abyone used Pigmentum tablets and had any success?  I dont beleive the scientific study so am purely relying on feedback from users of the product.  I am searching for a new way to recover and value anyones opinion?

It claims to work for segmented vitiligo which is what I have which is why I am interested.  Segmented doesnt respond well to most treatments.

Thanks all and hpe you all have a healthy and properous new 2008.

I have asked them several questions and have yet to get any answers.  Have you had the same problem?

I have sent more questions and still no answers to Pigmentum Inc.  I believe that this is a scam.  Its obvious to me with no communication going on that all they want is your money and that the testimonies that are posted are fake.  Buy at your on risk.  If anyone has info to the contrary please post.

Re: Pigmentum - Has anyone had sucess with this?

I bought some anyway to ty it but do beleive it is a scam.  The only email they responded to was when I complained to CCNOW that I did not receive them after 3 weeks.  As it happended they cam the day after I complained.  They are sent from Pakistan anyway not New Zealand.  I also checked the companies register in NZ who have no record of such a company.

However; I read one blog from a girl who said she used and found it worked after 2 months.  I will see how it goes and update after a couple of months.  I have segmented Vitiligo so treating it is difficult as it seldom responds to normal treatment.  It may be £50.00 down the drain but worth a bash I guess.  If not I may try teh Merry Clinic stiff as she responded to my emails recently and was helpfull.

Can we not ask that their advert be removed form this forum.  How do we do it?

Re: Pigmentum - Has anyone had sucess with this?

Yes, we did the same thing and ordered it and same as you it came from Pakistan which really concerns me.  My daughter is also using it even though I believe its a scam.  She also has segmented vitiligo but is receiving a treatment using X-Trac Lazer with creams.  Its working but is very slow however some patients respond quicker than she has probably because its segmented.  This treatment is painless.  She goes to the doctor three times a week for the lazer.  In the past she had the light box treatments with little success.  She is now 18 years old and has had it since she was 5.  For cover up she uses sunless tanning lotion which helps greatly along with makeup.  So you might find sunless tanning lotions to be of some help but you have to try different brands to get the right color, some tend to be orange.

What blog was this girls information on?

I dont know how to get it removed from advertising but Im sure these forum dont care cause they probably get alot of money for it.  Thats mainly what they care about anyway.  If you hear of anything else let me know.   Thanks

Re: Pigmentum - Has anyone had sucess with this?

    Hi Ann,

Will let you know how it goes.

I used to use a concation made by soaking "Psoralia Seeds" in "Surgical Spitrits" (Whole 250mg bottle, for a week and the applied.  After 3 months I become alergic but it worked great.  It repigmented my neck last summer completely and has remained that way.  I got the idea from a Chinese herbalist (You can buy the seeds from them but they will also try and sell you the tea :-) ).  Ensure teh skin never become Red but only Pink.  It may work for your Daughters Facial Vitiligo.

I then went to Guys&StThomas's for PUVA as its kind of the same thing, but the consultant wanted me to do a 4month stint of nUVB. This was making my skin even paler and some original colour even started going.  The 4 months finishes end of this month so going to stop that.

Thats why I ordered Pigmentum as a risk.  I am also however taking 120mg Ginkgo Biliboa (3*40mg tablets) and 120mg of Folic Acid as they are powerfull natural anti-oxidants.  I take SOLGAR tablets.  As Vitiligo often shows high oxidation levels, I have read trials have shown it to help reduce oxidation and repigmentation.  http://www.raysahelian.com/vitiligo.html  There are a few sites detailing this.

As you have said segmented is difficult to treat so I need to give everything a fair chance over 4 months until I find something that works.  Topical psoralea based ointments just aggrevate my skin.  I wnat to try and heal naturally.

Mine is not hereditary but I beleive was caused by long-term personal stress, after I looked back at the previous 24months.  Vitiligo takes ages to become visible and works it way up slowly.  I was 36 then.  Only until I detox'd and changed my lifestyle did it start recovering.  Want to try and let my body heal without topical or artificial light treatments as I have never actually done this.  Reason being my right shoulder area has always been recovering slowly and I have never doen anything to it.

The blog or entry in on this page.. http://www.dearcupid.org/question/has-anyone-had-any-successful-treatment-for-vitiligo.html

Sorry if this reply is long but wanted to give you more information on what I tried and why, it be of use.  Let me know if anything works.

Where are you getting the Xtrac Laser treatments? How did you find the supplier?  I may look into that if all else fails.

Re: Pigmentum - Has anyone had sucess with this?

She gets the xtrac laser treatments from Advanced Dermatology in Columbus, Georgia (USA).  But it is offered in other countries as well.  It has been approved by the FDA for vitiligo treatments and our insurance company is paying, thank GOD.  Its not in all countries but you can go to google or msn to search for someone who may have this laser in your area.

I wished other people would respond about pigmentum, that would make me feel better about her taking it.  I wished I knew how to take these pills to a lab and have them tested to see whats in them to make sure its nothing harmful.  With the way the world is now you just cant trust some people.

How often during the day do you take the Ginkgo, Folic, and Solgar?  I wonder if you can get the Psoralia in a cream form instead of having to make the stuff from seeds?

Re: Pigmentum - Has anyone had sucess with this?

I just found a web site www.vitiligocover.com where a vitiligo person was taking vitamine b-12 shots for another medical condition and while she was taking the shots her vitiligo spots started coloring in.  I thought that was very interesting.

Re: Pigmentum - Has anyone had sucess with this?

Hi Ann,  I am in London, UK so will see in a few months what the Ginkgo and Acid tablets do.  I may stip taking the pigmentum now and have also wanted to pass them to a lab for analysis.  I will do that and let you know.  I'll do soem digging around.

Thanks for the reply.  I have Novotil as well but it requires reqgular sunlight to work.  Don't get much of that in the UK.  I agree with many on teh site I would love to getthe site shut down.  Now its summer so may start using it over the summer monts and see how it goes or just leave it any see if it heals up on its own like my shoulder is doing now.

Keep in touch.  I have aso heard about Melanotan and will look ointo it on the US forum.  I have posted on this forum a question on it as well.  You might want to take a look

Re: Pigmentum - Has anyone had sucess with this?

    Hi.  My name is Tiffany.

I have had vitiligo since I was very young and it has always plagued me.  However, about 2 months ago, I came across a site, Pigmentum-Inc, and I ordered their pills.  I have been taking them for about a month now and I do see a change in my skin coloration.  My vitiligo is becoming darker, and I'm sure that within a few more months it will clear up completely or become extremely darker than it is.  I was skeptical about purchasing the pills at first not only becuase I had never heard of it, but also because it was coming for overseas.  However I am glad I bought them and hopefully it will work!

Re: Pigmentum - Has anyone had sucess with this?

Hi Tiffany,  Sorry if I seem skeptical but anyone can login and give feedback.  Can you give some details of yourself (city, country, etc) to prove its not the company signing in and providing this feedback.  If true then you are only the 2nd person I have come accross that has said they had any luck with it.  The company is very dodgy and does not respond to any queries nor is it based in New Zealand.  Have you put this feedback on the international forum http://www.vitiligosupport.org/main.cfm . There will be plenty of interest.  I am worried if I take it it may be doing me harm rather than good.  Did you have any other treatment whilst taking the tablets?

Re: Pigmentum - Has anyone had sucess with this?

Hi Anne, See the reply from someone called Tiffany.  I have responded somewhat sceptically.  I see that she only just registered and has not given any details of herself.  I don't trust pigmentim-inc as tey simply could login and make up replies on these forums.  What do you think? maybe you could also reply to her.

Re: Pigmentum - Has anyone had sucess with this?

Hello Raj,  Yes I am sceptical about it as well.  If it was successfull I believe we would see many more posts out there.  There are so many people that have experimented with different things and yet we have only seen two responses.   That doesnt speak very well of pigmentum.  I cant wait to here about the lab results that you get, it will be very interesting.  The message from Tiffany was vague to me but I do hope that this is for real, but of course you never know.  She has been the only response out of many that has viewed our posts.  So we will see.
